That Movie Magic — The Union Democrat

The Union Democrat’s Alex MacLean reports on how the film commission looks to revitalize the industry in the county.

Bruce Alves was working out at a fitness center in East Sonora when he saw Clint Eastwood on the ab machine across from him. “You can quote me on this, I increased the ab machine weight by 10 pounds from what he did,” Alves said with a laugh. The acclaimed actor and director was in town shooting scenes for his 1992 film “Unforgiven,” winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture that year.
